Olusegun Mimiko has failed to defect from the Labour Party to the
Peoples Democratic Party because the outgoing National Chairman of the
party, Chief Dan Nnwanyanwu, urged him to stay and help build the party,
The PUNCH has learnt.
A
source, who was present at the National Executive Council meeting of
the LP, which held in Abuja, on Wednesday, told our correspondent that
Mimiko’s planned defection was the most discussed topic at the meeting.
Investigation
showed that that consultations had been ongoing to determine whether
the governor would remain in the LP or defect to the PDP

source said the interest of the people of the state would be taken into
consideration when the choice of a political party is finally made.read more
